Jane Anson - Decanter over clos Manou 2023 - 93/100:
This stands out from the first nose, has sinewy tannins, textured bilberry and blackberry fruits, savoury liqourice and tobacco, slate tannins and a juicy finish. Accomplished and confident, one to look out for. Stephane Dief owner, 35% new oak for ageing, plus 6% amphora.
Jean-Marc Quarin over Clos Manou 2023 - 92/100:
Dark, intense and purple color. Aromatic nose, with fresh and spicy fruitiness and for the first time minty. Delicately fleshy on the palate, aromatic in the middle, with impeccable construction where everything slides into great balance, the wine finishes long and sappy. We gasp at the finale. Blend: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot. Alcohol content: 13°2 – pH: 3.69 – IPT: 86. Yield: approximately 1 kg of grapes per vine.
Yves Beck over Clos Manou 2023 - 95-96/100:
Clos Manou is not really dependent on vintages... it is, each year, the result of in-depth work, reflection, and responsiveness on the part of Stéphane Dief and his teams who aim to always follow the precious information that nature, the vine gives them to accompany them in their quest dedicated to great wines. The 2023 bouquet is of exemplary precision, with a space dedicated to each element. The subtlety of the attack underlines the meticulous ambitions. The wine gains width along its journey and benefits from the support of the tannins from the mid-palate, while the structuring acidity offers freshness and liveliness while emphasizing precision. Tasty and salivating, Clos Manou 2023 only confirms the trajectory invariably focused on excellence. It’s a TGV, not for speed but for Très Grand Vin! All in finesse, moreover. Finesse always wins over power, always… respectively it tames it! 2028-2048.
